They just reopened after renovations (sometime in early nov?) and I must say it looks so much nicer now with better use of space, a prettier patio and overall fresher design. Looks a little like a quaint european cafe right now.

It's almost always crowded with people lounging around chatting or reading or on their laptops. Worth a visit if you haven't seen the new design.

Breko's is one of those places that I've always know was there, but never tried. Finally got down to trying the food there and boy was I blown away. The quality of the dishes were surprisingly good. The steak was a perfect medium rare, tender and juicy. Came here for breakfast one day as well and was blown away by their breakfast in a pan dish.

Quaint and cosy little cafe located just beside Thomson Plaza. There is limited parking right outside the cafe along the row of shop houses. More than anything, the ambience here is what carries the place with its english like old school feel. Feel as though I was in some small English town restaurant. Beer list was good. Food was average I felt and not worth the 17-20 dollars per main course price tag.

I've heard that Tampopo is known for the black pig tonkatsu so when I came here for the first time a couple of years back, expectations were really high. The tonkatsu was actually suprisingly good (crispy yet tender and tasty) but I felt that the 'black pig' label was a little over hyped.

Came back a couple of times over the years and the quality is pretty consistent. Tried the premium grade cut of black pig once and it was a little disappointing as it seemed no better than the normal (and cheaper) grade cut.

But regardless, Tampopo is always a good place for great tonkatsu (just not the premium cut) and to have a few drinks with friends over dinner.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Orchard Cineleisure when I'm up for a fuss free, casual western meal. Just go to the counter, order a burger with some fries and a drink to go with it and you're done. Service is usually fast (but all the times I've been there it's been not that crowded) and the burgers are consistently of good quality. By good quality I mean that the meat patty is not too overcooked, nice and juicy and well seasoned.

This restaurant has been there for a pretty long time, which speaks for its own quality. The stall beside it has changed countless of times (right now it just changed from a chinese dessert place to a bubble tea shop yet again). Check this place out if you're in the mood for higher-than-fast-food quality burgers.

Been to Original Sin a couple of times to enjoy some healthy (I hope) but great tasting vegetarian food. The first time I went there, I didn't realise that it was a vegetarian restaurant till halfway through the meal and I noticed that all our dishes had no meat!

That being said, I remember the hummus to be really good and the service to be top notch. It's a good quiet and classy place to bring a date to. But beware of the lack of parking lots nearby (only those parallel parking slots available) and the fact that holland village parking lots are really full during meal times.
