I just wanna share the following information:-

We (my sister's family & mine) visited your cafe on 15th Jan 2012, Saturday and we ordered a few dishes including Chicken Wings (Receipt No.: 00017128).

When my niece ate half way and found out that the wing wasn't really well cooked and we inform the waitress about it. The waitress took the wings back to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later with exactly the same wings she had ate half way.

I asked the waitress did the cafe uses a deep fryer to fry the wings and she answered YES. I asked her: "Don't you think that it is not very hygiene to uses the same fryer to fry other wings and serve it to other customers?" The waitress went back to the kitchen to check with the chef and came back with the answer: “My chef says, the oil temperature is very high and it is high enough to kill all the bacteria and germs, so it is very hygiene, don’t worry.”

This will be my first and last visit to your café with such things happening.

their ribs have a distinct smokiness you will not find with any other rib place. owner rob always makes it a point to chat with his customers.. very friend and comfortable place. first visit, you definitely have to try the ribs. second visit, try the fish & chips. third visit, try the smoked salmon.

The first time I went to Ardents, I was pleasantly surprised by the whole ambience of the restaurant. It's a little shophouse in Neil road, with a sprawling astroturf lawn in the front, and a nice cosy indoor restaurant space in the back. The indoor part feels very homely, with a fireplace and comfortable sofas.

The food is ok at Ardents, with all day breakfast how can you go wrong? I like the prefer finger food they have there though. But what Ardent's really does well are the drinks. Cocktails, wine, champagne, hard liquor... whatever you want they have it. They have a Blackforest Mojito which is super yummy and comes in a metal half frozen cup. very cool!

This little cafe really hits the spot for lazy sunday afternoon tea! Paid $6 for 2 scones, which was awesome with the refreshing key lime sauce. Who knew scones went with key lime! Waffles were pretty good too. They update the menu pretty often with their own creations, but unfortunately the new dishes were sold out by the time we got there. Our super friendly and cheerful waitress told us that they will try to stock up more food so it won't run out so fast next time. I'm definitely coming back here soon!

They just reopened after renovations (sometime in early nov?) and I must say it looks so much nicer now with better use of space, a prettier patio and overall fresher design. Looks a little like a quaint european cafe right now.

It's almost always crowded with people lounging around chatting or reading or on their laptops. Worth a visit if you haven't seen the new design.

Breko's is one of those places that I've always know was there, but never tried. Finally got down to trying the food there and boy was I blown away. The quality of the dishes were surprisingly good. The steak was a perfect medium rare, tender and juicy. Came here for breakfast one day as well and was blown away by their breakfast in a pan dish.

Dear Friends:

This cafe is more like a Coffee Shop settings on the ground level. Much better cafe environment upstairs. The tables below are very cramped together and worse of all, you would be dining right near the Toilet.

So when we call up to reserve for dinner, we insisted on a table upstairs and the waitress agreed. Upon arrival, they (as always) tried to push us to the ground level. We insisted on going upstairs as reserved, and went up and took up a table upstairs.

No one served us, so we took the menu ourselves. After a while, a waiter came and insisted that we go downstairs. We said we reserved upstairs but he insisted and simply refused to take our orders. He replied that the cafe policy is not to take reservations We were like huh!?!?! we actually had a confirmed reservation when we called up earlier. What crap excuses did he trying to give man!?!?!

One of the worst, even traumatic experiece for our family of four (with two young daughters). We simply walked out of the coffee shop.
And guess what, my friends.... the kitchen is actually located upstairs!!! It is much easier for them to serve patrons seated upstairs. For those patrons seated on the ground level, the poor waitresses would have to carry the dishes down the narrow stairs! What a JOKE in terms of management.

We swear we would NEVER step and even consider this place ever again.

I never expected to like this recommended restaurant so much but my recent visit proved me wrong. The ambience is distinctively Chinese but in a very understated and elegant style. Service staff are both helpful,, they know their menu well and are attentive without being intrusive. Food is above average with their Peking Duck a clear star! Dim Sum items..all seafood based are fresh, very well interpreted in classical Cantonese style. Prices are wallet-friendly for what ones gets with a bill of $118 for three glasses of wine, 5 types of dim sum and the peking Duck which was cannabilised into our noodles. There was more than enough to merit a take-away. Overall a lovely and gracious dining experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone!
