the 'glam-up' version of family friendly american diner swensen's. no signature stained glass lamps or warm cosy feeling. instead, it gives the minimalist yet comfy feeling.
prices are really much more expensive than swensen's by around 3 bucks. throw in the extra 17% and the bill easily comes to at least >$20. it'd be better if the extra 3 bucks contributed to higher quality of food - better tasting, but apparently it's to the ambience i think.
my friend had the fish n chips. at least it was the same standards as swensen's. i had earle's burger which was beef patty with cheese and some dark green strips of i-dunno-what, but the overall taste was okay too. the grilled-smelling bun probably was over-grilled as it had a little bit of charred smell.
service staff were young and very hyper. it'd be better if they kept their conversation between themselves a little softer.
