Akashi Japanese Restaurant (Paragon)

This akashi fails to impress despite the strong records of the other branches. Somehow the ambience at this restaurant fails to make the restaurant seem like an authentic japanese restaurant, but instead makes it feel as though Akashi has sacrificed some of the authenticity for quick commercial gain.

Despite this though, the restaurant seems to be always drawing a crowd and there is always a line outside, maybe due to the good location. The food here though, seems to be average, and cannot compare to the other akashi branches. The service is pretty slow and the food takes forever to come, probably due to the crowd always at the restaurant. I would recommend to go to other restaurants in paragon or to the other akashi's around town.

One of my favorite Japaneses restaurant in Singapore, i would visit this place 3times a week if i had unlimited $$$. During the weekend, its best to make reservations as theres normally a small queue during dinner time.

I usually order the gyu beef(medium rare) which is extremely tender and juicy. As well as a platter of mixed sashimi which is always very fresh. If you are a fan of sushi, i would recommend trying the Dragon Roll.

Although this place is slightly expensive, the food quality makes money spent worthwhile.
