Repulsive and crappy buffet. This is the second time i've been to this restaurant. Back then (many years ago), it was so much better, the spread and the quality of the food.

Now, the price has shot up. When i visited, it was 70+++ bcoz of this 'festive dinner buffet for xmas and new yr i guess. why they call it festive, and raise the price, i cannot decipher. the pathetic xmas cookies and mince pies which i wouldn't want to take a second look at, or the boring log cake and fruit cake among the other sub-standard desserts? i couldn't even find a piece of my fav cheesecake. and chocolate fountain - turnoff (wads the hype abt this?) and the cold and dry turkey. i could roast a better one myself.

for a start, the oysters are pretty fresh and good. other than that, the prawns are sweet. crayfish - mediocre. SASHIMI - HORRENDOUS! i was shocked at the cuts and texture of the salmon sashimi (only salmon?). lacking in freshness. mushy. the sushi and sashimi was mostly untouched. the sushi looked hard and cheap. plastic display sushi probably looked more appetising. escargots freaking salty. others are not worth mentioning. lobster bisque did not have lobster bits like it used to anymore.

hot food was not hot. only the lamb shank was decent. duck leg was bland. salmon not worth mentioning. pork loin dry. roast beef tough! turkey dry! and i wonder wads the rave about the ham, its nice, but perhaps overhyped. i dun know why they even bother to have a chinese selection of mains. the sweet and sour pork and other nonsense simply looked out of place. i ignored this section. and the half lobster, i'll rather not have it. its dry and overcooked and uses some sauce to mask the lack of freshness. good lobster only needs simple preparation.

and that was about it. an overpriced buffet with limited and lacklustre selections which fails to impress. totally dissatisfying. i felt cheated. ironically, i was sitting near the entrance, with all the awards hanging on the wall. Wine and Dine? i seriously dunno who is reviewing. someone who has neva had a buffet? or someone whose tastebuds have gone numb? and can i mention again tt the desserts are simply bullshit? pls dun make some agar agar and open some cheap canned fruits to try to punk the customers.

pile on your calories somewhere else, folks. this is so not worth putting on the pounds for. invite me for free and i would rather save the transport fee and the time. this buffet is a scam. i'll neva eva go back. this buffet really kills the satisfaction that one should get from buffets. one of the times when i have eaten so little yet feel so sick. i regret not paying a bit more for The Line at Shangri-La.

P.S. : the 3 amigos or wadeva is irritating.

P.S. 2: i am so pissed i registered to comment on this!

P.S. 3: Triple 3 stands for

           1) Scam

           2) Shit

           3) Sucky

The last time I went to Triple 3 was about a year ago. It used to be one of the buffet restaurant I enjoyed most. So when I decided to go for buffet again yesterday, Tripple 3 is my natural choice.

My family and I went there last night with the usual high expectation. But to my disappointment, I sign up this web just to put down my comment. This is the first time that I commented on any restaurants that I dine. So you can imagine how disappointed I was. i try to give execuse maybe theie menu last night was not up to my standard..

The variety of the hot dishes and the desserts are getting lesser as compared to a year ago when I was there.  Desserts there is one of the reason that attracted me there. Their different types of chocolate and cake. They are still there, but just the spread is not there.

The pasta counter used to be my children favour. The were so disappointed that they couldn't find it there last night!!

Nowadays, they serve half lobster to each adult customer. Not like last time, the lobster was all you can eat. I would expect this should be the way as it is a buffet dinner! I thought that now they restricted half lobster to each adult customer, the lobster might be better and more fresh. I was wrong.

The only dish that still remain as good as before is the honey baked ham. It end up with My family and I filled our plates mostly with the hams!

I would say that as compared to a year ago, the standard of the foods dropped eventhough the price didn't go down. With this kind of price, I believe I should be able to find some other better buffet restaurant then this one.

i would like to comment on this again cos i went there last week to celebrate my birthday with my family

it's amazing how things have all evolved within a short time. well i guess this is a little exagerrating. but triple3 has gone from good to better! the rating i gave the last time was 7/10. well now i guess i would give and 7.5. so it's rounded up to 8. this is because everyting has gone better

there used to be a long table which used to have all different types of bread around the world like eg.breadsticks frm italy. now the long table has be replaced. well the table's still there. just that it's filled with deserts. hmm i like it cos i guess ive a thing for sweet stuff =)

the 2 must tries are still honey baked ham and roast beef that the person would personally slice for u upon ur request. the quality is still as good as ever

thumbs up for the frog leg! i havent eaten frog legs in like a million years and when i ate them last week again, it felt like i was back to where i was when i first ate them during my childhood days. yeah dramatic enough.

there's also this particular fish that is sooo soft, silky and taste absolutely marvellous. the 2 fishes are placed side by side. only the one i mentioned is good. the other one is mediocre. not that it's bad. it's just that, it doesnt taste good anymore after u ate the better one

beef and mutton satay. im surprised they have it there. they never had satay before. (maybe they did. but i guess i forgot) they look oh-so-hard. but once u dip them into the sauce, it's ideal.

the pumpkin soup- up to standard

sashimi- great! they taste fresher than the last time i went.

if u have to try between the raw salmon dipped in black sauce and wasabi, or smoked salmon serve in a glass cup, do take the raw salmon.

the smoke salmon seems as if it can be bought in those supermarkets like ColdStorage. nothing special

however, a few things that made it rather 'saddening'

#1- the 3Amigos that usually walk around asking people for song dedications and will gladly play any song upon request are not walking around anymore. in fact, there are only 2 left! the 2 of them stand at a corner while everyone dont even realise they're there. but the lead singer's voice is rather good

#2- it's getting abit noisy in there. maybe they should install a noise filter. also, at a restaurant like that, i dont think people should go in with unappropriate clothes. i saw a boy in his Clementi Town's uniform the time i went there. he was sweaty, smelly and dull. i dont think they should allow kids to run around, play or even scream too

#3- they serve everyone there a plate of lobster. only 1 per person. not that it's bad or anything. but if u're unlucky, ur lobster might not be as tasty as the one who's sitting beside u. my dad got an unfresh lobster. u cant get a replacement for that i think. cos it's only 1 serving for one. but the good thing is that, the sauce that goes with the lobster is really great

ok i think that's about it.

although there are bad points, i guess it's overall rather good

I fully agreed with kimarco comment on this place.

It is really disappointment on the variety and quality of the food.  My friends went there for lunch, at my recommendation, really regret it!

The food quality and variety were well describe by kimarco - it was really the worst buffet I ever eat too and at the price of $48+++ per person.

They had pasta station that afternoon - two type of pasta serve with only omato sauce or plain.  They don't evey have chilli flake to go with it, something you can't take it from a five-star hotel where you can get it even in PizzaHut.

Most of the dishes were tasteless and the soup will lukewarm.  The sushi was really really hard and cold, which I suspect may be leftover from yesterday night.

I signed up for the Eat at Mertius for $440 one year which give me 50% discount on certain conditions, which still come up to $110.  Make me wonder whether I made the wrong choice.

If you have plenty of free time, enough money, and a huge appetite, this is the place you have to go. I wont say it's amazingly great or that it is the best food I have ever tasted, but it's satisfying. It's worth the money though!

The honey baked ham is always warm and generous. You top it with the honey sauce and trust me, you'll fall in love with it. The seafood is always fresh and they serve different kinds of soup. From mushroom, to pumpkin soup.

I've been the Triple3 since I was a kid, and it is one of the places my family would go to when there are celeberations like birthdays. If you call and make reservations, and you say that it's for a birthday celebration, they come with a free birthday cake which is freshly baked by their chefs.

The atmosphere is great. The lighting is not very bright and this gives a good ambience. Very often, a group of musicians, about 3 to 4 people, would play songs while you're dining. Sometimes, they go up to you and ask if u have a song in mind for them to play.

Well, go check it out for yourself. I would say, it is good =)

I have searched for many reviews before i decide on Triple 3, decided to give The line- shangrila a miss this time because i had been there and was deciding between TRiple 3 and Greenhouse/Ritz

Triple 3 costs S$60 ++
Greenhouse cost S$ 48++
The Line Cost S$75++

OK....finally decided on TRiple because it was "THE" only award winning buffet, so-called and also it is more expensive than Ritz, so therotically it should be better.

Arrived at Triple 3 about 15 minutes before my guests arrived, and after i surveyed the spread.... i had this urged to switch to The Line as I have a feeling that dinner may be disasatrous from the spread they offer and the presentation of the food... oh and also the miserable lighting of the dining place....looked damn miserable...

Called The line and they do have seats and i was ready to go the Line but unfortunately my guests arrived , so decided to stick with it and hoped for the best.

Well, wrong decision.

Triple 3 basically is GREAT disappointment beyong imagination.

In short, its spread is limited, its quality is terribly lacking, ambience is not 5 star.....award winning ??? must be a joke...

Actually, i dont really rate it based on the spread as some buffet has limited spread but has excellent quality. I am more concern about quality than spread...actually... all you need is just a few dishes that is good....to salvage a poor spread. And i usually go away satisfied even if spread is limited.

For S$60
ok.. the starter.....sashimi has water ponding in the plate....this is not a good sign.... .and only have standard salmon, tuna and white fish = cheap sashimi. Didnt have appetite to dish the fish from the pond. Sushi is the cheapest you can find, egg and imitation crabstick only - how cheap can you go??and presentation is digusting... sushi all wind dried (prob. no one has taken one since two days ago). Salad is pathetic with cheap vegetables and somel wilting...

Hot dish
Gigantic Whole capsicums, red and green, stuffed with minced dunno-what meat.. ?? how many capsicums can you eat ? Chicken boiled in clear msg water ?? hard to remember what other hot dishes they have.. (they all looked like leftover meats) / oh yes ..Curry (what so special ) /soup - kecthup soup ???/ grilled lobster - meat is all mushy and looked like they have been dead for a week already... /

HOt station... - oh... wooh ...freshly cooked to order food...!!
Panfry more marinated minced meat/ chicken or beef/mutton to be wrapped in some tortilla wrap ( all looked like leftovers to be cleared).. Yucks..

Cheese - the cheapest cheese you can find...some hardened and tasteless.

Beef trolley - hardened/ dry and tough..

Anyway.... for S$60... please save up S$15 more and go to shangri-la..., they are 10 times better for just a bit more.. also if you are playing host, avoid this place as it make u looked cheapo., your guest may thought it cost S$30++.

However, i must be fair though, the oyster is rather fresh and thats about it, if you are the oyster lover who can go for 2 dozens at least, then maybe you can consider to come here and pay S$60 to just eat the oyster
The dessert was ok only , nothing to complain but definitely not excellent. I regretted not going to Ritz as i believe the Deco would at least be better if not the food to entertain my guest... My 10 other guests also think it sucks for S$60.

I actually asked the waiter who gave them the award ???? it is "the wine and dine" magazine he said. it is definitely very misleading.... I think it is close to be the top 10 worse buffet, if not the worst. , biggest con buffet...

Also tempted to speak to the chef... how can any chef concoct such food that is so unappetising and also miserable. ??? Never in my life have i encounter such terrible quality food in 5 star hotel...

go somewhere else for buffet.... ....Forget about Triple 3...

First introduced to this place as a birthday celebration by my family. Enjoyed it so much, that many of my friend were coerced into holding their birthdays there as well.

What's not to love? The choices of food is excellent, top quality spread from start to finish.

I was won over by their lobster bisque and their fresh oysters. Any place with good lobster bisque is definitely a good indication of good things to come. Oh, and the bisque doesn't run stingy on chunky lobster bits.

And of course, an evening at Triple 3 would not be complete without a serenading by the 3 Amigos, who render any song, and n many occasions any language.

So whether you are there to have a romantic evening with your girlfriend, or to have a nice warm meal with your family, Triple 3 is a good way for most celebrations.

ENJOY
