Aji by Hanabi Restaurant

I ahve been to this restaurant umpteenth time since 2007.  The atmosphere is good.  So is the food.

Should try the a la carte buffet.  The California roll is one of the best.  All the portion comes with the right size.  But you can finish all the 109 dishes.

Although the price is a bit high @ 45++ per person for weekend dinner.  But really worth it.  The food is really fresh for the Sashimi.  At times you really need to make reservation on Saturday.

The only setback is the waitress which they employ from Myanmar and China.  Some of them hardly speak English.  But as long as you tell them the ofood #, everything is fine.

Firstly, i was introduced by my frends that this hanabi at katong is nice..and i decide to try the restaurant at vivocity but i was shocked to see the buffet wasnt up to standard. due to the price was so much expensive compare to other outlets.
the serving of sashimi is getting slightly lesser when we order later on.

the deep fried scallop is kinda salty for us...

the handroll of the seaweed was like so sticky and nt even crispy at all...the quality is like so-so..

grilled salmon was like so awful...

Chawanmushi is so bland...compare to others is much more low class..

and i felt those are recommended in the menu as crown..the food doesnt up to standard..

i wont go back again and i felt they should improve more on their food quantity and quality ....and the services wasnt very good, keep on have to wait for the waitress who are ordering instead...

A very upmarket Japanese restaurant that tries to break into a higher class dining scene. I like Aji by Hanabi. But be warned: being on a budget will definitely not help here. The seared tuna with a garlic dressing is simply sensational. Even before biting into the flesh, the tuna is delectable, the garlic dressing releases a burst of flavor that engulfs the taste buds and simply sends me floating.

A pity that not many items are on the menu, upon questioning, the staff told me that they will be adding more items in. This was in 2006! Hopefully they have more stuff on their menu now!

Incidentally. Aji by Hanabi in direct translation would mean "Fish by Fireworks".
